Sassanian Empire, Four AR Drachm. Two Hormizd IV. Circa 579-590 A.D., years six and seven. Two Khusru II. Circa 590-1-628 A.D. Largest 34mm. 4.1g Also Abbasid Caliphate AR Dirham and AE Dinar. The first circa 820 A.D., the second circa 750 A.D., Baghdad.

This sale features a stunning selection of high-grade gold and silver coins and specimen coin sets from Charles II to Elizabeth II to include the much sought after George VI 1937 Gold Proof Four Coin Specimen Set and the Royal Mint George V 1911 Specimen Proof Coin set both in their original dated presentation cases of issue.  There are several good collections of ancient coins to include high-grade Roman and Greek coinage. Banknotes are well represented with several good collections of high-grade Bank of England banknotes including a stunning Third Fisher Issue (July 1927) One Pound banknote and many others.
