This large Della Robbia ewer created a lot of interest in the saleroom, incised probably by Jessie Sinclair and painted by Liz Wilkins with grapes and vine leaves dated 1897 made a whopping £2,700.

Drum Chair designed by Cecil Beaton circa 1940 Estimate £800-1,200
This chair was originally designed as part of a set of circus themed furniture to fit out Cecil Beaton’s bedroom at Ashcombe House in Wiltshire. The bedroom was painted with circus related murals by friends of Beatons during wet Sunday afternoons and is described in Buckle, Richard (Ed.) Self Portrait with Friends, The Selected Diaries of Cecil Beaton, 1926 – 1974, London 1974.

Naval General Service Medal with one clasp for Copenhagen 1801
for John Clarke, naming impressed. Estimate £2,000-3,000

John Clarke was a Private Royal Marine on board the H.M.S. Saturn (74 gun third rate ship of the line) during the Battle of Copenhagen. Clarke is one of only 12 men to receive the Copenhagen clasp from the Saturn.
