Peter Wilson Auctioneers are pleased to offer an exclusive lecture on 'The History of Diamonds' presented by jewellery lecturer and historian David Byrne (FGA, DGA, FIRV).

 This comprehensive lecture will provide insight into the mining, fashioning and use of diamonds in jewellery throughout history, as well as expert advice on what to look out for at auction.

The talk will last approximately one hour, followed by an exclusive preview of our forthcoming September Fine Art Sale.

David Byrne (FGA, DGA, FIRV)

David is a Fellow of the Institute of Registered Valuers and a Fellow of the Gemmological Association.As an independent jewellery valuer he spreads his time between producing jewellery valuations for the Birmingham Assay Office, valuing antiques, running jewellery courses, and has lectured at Birmingham City University School of Jewellery as a visiting Lecturer. 

David's many roles throughout his lifelong career within the jewellery business from retail management to valuer and tutor means he has a wide range of experience and expertise to deliver top quality service to the clients for Peter Wilson.
