Victorian silver large oval tray, Benjamin Smith, London 1848, the field engraved with shells and leaf scrolls surrounding an armorial and dedication, within a raised rim cast with oak leaves and acorns and bark-effect loop handles, length of oval: 61cm, 71cm overall; together with the original Benjamin Smith octagonal oak case set with the name plate of the dedicatee. *The dedication is to Richard Bridgman Barrow, from Miss Milward of Hexgreave Park, in memory of Richard Milward of Hexgreave Park and Thurgarton Priory.
